Andrew Lyman
A qualified legal professional (Solicitor) with a strong mix of public and private sector regulatory, policy, trade association and public affairs experience. Now looking to transition to a Non Executive “portfolio” career. Exposure to start up and change management. Currently employed by the Government of Gibraltar (Ministry of Justice, Trade and Industry) as the Gambling Commissioner (statutory appointment) and Executive Director (CEO role)- Gibraltar Gambling Division. Previously served as Director of Monitoring and Enforcement at the UK Gambling Commission, and I also have extensive experience in health and safety and financial services regulation (FCA). Experience as a tax investigation consultant in a big four professional services firm (PwC) as well as law enforcement (including anti- money laundering operations and fraud investigations). Recent experience in change management processes and organisational start up. Strong experience in developing regulatory policy, building networks and establishing governance frameworks. Used to managing legal and other staff engaged in compliance and enforcement work. Exposure to a wide range of commercial issues during my time as Director of Group Regulatory Affairs at William Hill plc; including integrity in sports betting and competition law, an understanding of European regulatory structures and an understanding of sports regulation and sports rights issues. A wide range of contacts in sport and gambling. Expertise in both remote and land based gambling.
