Digital Platforms and the Black Market: Tackling Illegal Gambling Online
Illegal gambling operators are increasingly exploiting digital platforms and search advertising to reach vulnerable users. As concerns grow around "non-GamStop” casinos, crypto gambling and algorithm-driven discoverability, regulators and industry leaders are questioning whether enough is being done to prevent illegal gambling exposure within these ecosystems.
· Assessing the role and responsibility of platforms such as Meta, Google and streaming ecosystems in limiting illegal gambling advertising, discoverability and algorithmic amplification.
· Exploring how affiliates, influencers and creator networks can collaborate with regulators and operators to identify risk exposure pathways and steer users away from illegal gambling markets.
· Analysing how the UK Illegal Gambling Taskforce and other regulatory bodies are increasing enforcement against illegal advertising, “non-GamStop” casinos, crypto operators and AI-generated marketing.
