Eastern Europe has evolved over the last few years and has become one of the key target markets for operators and suppliers. We speak to Bogdan Coman of Rombet about how it's changing.
Ahead of the iGB Live! HQ Hive session "European Regulatory Mixer" where Bogdan will be an expert, we thought we'd catch up to find out his key thoughts ahead of the show.
In the last 9 years Bogdan covered most of the gambling spectrum - from companies to NGOs, and branches - betting, casino, slots, bingo, etc. He has currently spent the past year working for Rombet as an Executive Director
iGB Live!: Why is your session important for delegates?
Bogdan Coman (BC): If you look at western Europe, you see countries with rich history of gambling, both online, and retail, but if you look at eastern Europe, one country stands out in particular, the biggest economy in the region, having one of the most transparent and attractive regulation in entire Europe. If you want a model of sustainable growth and example of good practices, take a look at Romania.
iGB Live: How is your topic relevant to our industry?
BC: It describes a key jurisdiction in CEE region with enormous growth potential in online gambling in the following years.
iGB Live!: What is the one thing you hope delegates get out of your session?
BC: They will have a structured vision of how the gambling business is structured in Romania, who are the key players, what are the trends and how Rombet Association can be a partner in their business
iGB Live!: Why choose iGB Live! as the event to share your findings?
BC: We are attending most of Europe’s important gambling events, and see ourselves as ambassadors of our members in the pursuit to extract information and provide information to other jurisdictions and companies in the industry
iGB Live: How do you plan on maximising your time at the event?
BC: Will try to attend at least 2 events in each of the rooms structuring the event, so we can provide a very concrete overview of what iGB 2018 meant and how our members can benefit from this experience.
